ABOUT BRIGITTA (REVATHI)

Brigitta was born in Hungary and has been living in Germany for many years. In 2004 she began taking lessons in the classical South Indian temple dance Bharatanatyam in the style of the world-famous Kalakshetra school (Chennai) from Chandra Devi, Natyadhara, Center for Indian Dance and Culture in Munich. She previously studied and taught oriental dance (tribal fusion dance) in Vancouver, Canada, choreographed and directed fashion and dance shows at theaters, gaining professional stage experience.


Over the years Brigitta developed a strong devotion to classical Indian dance forms and the Indian subcontinent. In addition to Bharatanatyam, she dances Mohiniyattam, Bollywood dance and has been practicing yoga for several years. She taught Kundalini Yoga in Munich. Every year she travels to Kerala, India, to study intensively at the Dharani Dance School, School of Performing Arts, Kochi, with Smt. Shyamala Surendran Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, an internationally renowned artist who has received multiple awards for her cultural engagement.

Brigitta spends several months in India once a year, not only to deepen her knowledge, but also to perform solo or with the Dharani performance group at many festivals and events. She also organizes dance trips to India for her dance students.


Brigitta completed her Bharatanatyam dance training by completing the Arangetram with Shyamala Surendran and Chandra Devi in ​​June 2009. After her Bharatanatyam training, the artist also began to devote herself to the Mohiniyattam, a temple dance from Kerala, which she also learned from Shyamala Surendran in India. She completed her Mohiniyattam dance training in Cochin in 2012 with an arrangement tram. Arangetram means ready for the stage. In this two-and-a-half-hour performance, the dancer demonstrates her ability to perform the entire repertoire to live music. In the life of a classical Indian dancer, the arrangement tram is a central milestone that marks the beginning of a professional dance career. Since then, Brigitta has borne the stage name "Revathi", which means wealth.


Brigitta has performed several times in Germany, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, England, Canada and India. She is a member of the two performance groups "Natyananda" led by Chandra Devi, who give performances throughout Germany, as well as the "Dharani" performance group in Kerala, India. Brigitta has taught Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Bollywood Dance and Indian Tribal Fusion Dance at the Natyadhara Dance School in Munich for several years. Today she gives ongoing courses in Schwabing in Munich, as well as children's dance lessons at the Aton Music School. She travels a lot within Europe and regularly gives workshops.
